Heavy Metal Wanaka

https://www.facebook.com/Bulletbelt/ https://bulletbeltnz.bandcamp.com/ It was with the release of 2012 album "Down in the Cold of the Grave" by Wellington band, Bulletbelts, that I first, properly, heard of the band and their sound etc. As I say in the video, in- what I find to be an interesting twist to events, the original guitarist of No Tag, the '80's punk band who did the original version of 'Mistaken identity'- which Bulletbelt covers on this album, actually talked to me about Bulletbelt. The world would likely be more familiar with their 2014 effort, 'Rise of the Banshee', due not only to the wickedness of the music, but it's inclusion on the Deathgasm (the movie) soundtrack. When you think of RED HAIR, is Heavy Metal usually the first thing you think of? As a band of gingers, Auckland Stoner / sludge metal band  Bloodnut  has made, what is normally somewhat of a social stigma, the bands thematic focus.   New Zealand's rock & Metal fans will be well familiar with the pedigree of Hamilton's DEVILSKIN- either from previous bands the members are /  have been in- ( i.e. Slipping Tongue, Chuganaut, World War Four, Seas of Conflict ). The band recently released their highly anticipated SECOND album," Be Like The River " which has since hit #1 on the album charts!  Check out 'Be Like The River' here:    Music fans hanging around Wanaka over New Years Eve will be able to catch them perform at this years (i.e. year to end 2016) Rhythm and Alps fest .  The band consists of: Jennie Skulander - Vocals Nail - Guitar Paul Martin - Bass Nic Martin - Drums  I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this record & easily managed to listen to the full album several times over.
